All materials are available as reading room loans.
- Archival materials are only available as reading room loans, no home loans allowed.
- Library materials: home loan is usually OK for books less than 100 years old. All other materials are only available as reading room loans. See our library regulations.
Requests and retrieval
Most of our holdings are stored in closed stacks, so you must request the materials you want to study. Retrievals are done according to a set schedule, ranging from several a day from our in-house stacks to every other week from our most distant. Please plan ahead.
You place requests in different ways depending on the type of materials.
- Request archival materials: You search our indexes (on location) and fill out an order manually. You may also e-mail your request beforehand if you plan to visit us.
- Request library materials: You need a library card. Apply for a card if you don’t already have one. Request and order materials directly through our online library catalogue, Kata. In certain cases you may need to make a special reservation.
Photocopies and prints
We practice a self-service system: always show a member of staff what you intend to copy, whereafter you do it yourself. Black-and-white prints only. Staff has the right to disallow copying if the material is too fragile.
Charges: A4 = 2 SEK; A3 = 3 SEK.
